You can help protect the Indian River Lagoon! Do not blow grass clippings into streets and storm drains, gutters, ponds or water bodies.

Once it rains, those leaves and grass clippings and yard waste are washed into the Indian River Lagoon. The nutrients contained in the waste cause algae blooms that decrease the amount of light and oxygen in the water and sometimes result in fish and sea grass kills.

Keep grass clippings and yard debris out of curbs, the roadway, and away from inlets/stormdrains. Instead blow them back into your yard.
