A consultation with a member of the Planning Division is often the first step in the permitting processes. Planning review is required for most types of physical development to a property.

1. Contact the Planner of the Day. The Planner of the Day can help you with general questions about zoning, setbacks and basic procedures. The Planner of the Day can also refer you to additional departments or agencies for assistance.
2. Set up a Pre-application Meeting. When the development questions become more involved, a pre-application meeting offers a chance to discuss the details with applicable development review staff from many departments within the City.
